Dear Mother Earth

We have been talking about saving our planet for years. But we just don't want to make the sacrifices it requires. God gave us this beautiful, intricate, self sustaining world perfectly designed to sustain life the human life. But as humans are won't to do, we found a way to destroy it. We've been trying for decades to find a way to save  it and restore it. Maybe now is the time to ask God to join the fight.

Oh, my dear Mother earth, we find ourselves in quite a bind. Once we had abundant resources, but now, those resources are harder to find.

It was never meant to be like this. It was meant to be communal from the start. We were meant to love you enough to willingly do our part.

But the world pulled away from God, and that slowly struck us blind. Until we no longer understood that your fate and ours is aligned.

But we are finally awakening to the damage we have done. Understanding  that our abuse of you, rejects  the Father and Son.

For you are their beloved creation. They made you beautiful, then we brought  you blight. And if we are to save you, we all must join the fight.

We see your weariness in how your seasons have changed; you grow weaker with every hundred year flood. Your death knell is heard in every tornado, and it echoes in avalanches of mud.

The time is growing short oh, Mother. And many don't see the truth. So in their convenient blindness, they will continue your abject abuse.

But Mother we will do our best. We'll try to open their eyes; plead with those who might listen, and expose those who continue to lie. 

However, our work is cut out for us. We will not easily succeed. So, in the many ways we fight this war, let's not forget to fight on our knees.
